"For when the last Great Scorer cometh to write against my name, He'll not ask if I won or lost, but how I played the game."

Congress 2011 President, Mary O'Dowd made presentations to Anne Freeman, retiring Congress Secretary, and Josie Cawley, retiring Entries Secretary, at Christmas party 2010.

In her citations, Mary stated that both ladies had worked very hard for the Congress and had been great ambassadors for the Congress and Bridge in Ireland. For many years Josie took the Congress entries and performed the difficult role of match-maker to ensure players who needed a partner would be able to enjoy a game with someone compatible. Both ladies are highly competent both as Congress administrators and at playing Bridge and will continue to play cards for many years to come.

Mary also congratulated Anne and husband Martin on reviving the Enniscrone Bridge Club and wished them and the club every success in the future. Enniscrone Bridge Club plays Wednesday nights at 7.45 p.m. September-April in the Diamond Coast Hotel, Enniscrone.
